- Well, I have become obsessed with WW1, so I decided to write a story about it LOL. I got information for the channel 4 docudrama thing 'The Somme' which was shown in 2005, BTW IF ANYONE HAS THIS COULD THEY PLEASE PUT IT ON YOUTUBE? Anywho my book, is based on some of the people from that film. This is written from the point of the WAGs basically, and what role they play in the war, and what happens to the men that they love. Its main focus is the battle of the somme btw.

* troops usually marched to the railway station instead of using trucks (these were rare in 1914).
* by November 1914, the volunteers of August would still be in training (in fact most would not yet even have uniforms).
* not sure on the heroine straddling the social classes - this may be something you plan to develop but my guess is that she would be very lonely and not fit in in either social group.
Please don't take these criticisms to heart, it looks a fascinating story that I would love to read more of and if you want any advice regarding the military please feel free to ask.
