So I'm home til tomorrow afternoon for the funeral of a family friend.
Ever have someone who's just furniture in your life? He was one of those people; sound guy, good looking, noone had a bad word to say against him, he was always just there.
And then one day he's gone and you have to be there to see him one more time and say goodbye no matter how many times you've said hello...

Makes you stop and think, when someone so young, 26, with friends, family and a girlfriend who loves them deeply dies in vain, you stop and analyse every person who crosses your path and you wonder who's next.

depression's a disease and has far too much stigma associated with it, it's not spoken about enough especially among young men and when it comes to a point where it takes innocent lives it's gone too far.

I'm living in galway now, I quit the charity gig because I wasn't up to the challenge of settling in to a career just yet, right now I'm looking for something to pass the time. My mom came up with a concept for a story which my father's illustrated that I'm looking to write and publish in aid of the families of suicide victims and sufferers of depression. Any help at all in this would be massively appreciated.

Home for the week so guess I'll catch up with this ol thing.
Currently achieving my goals, travelling, new places, new faces. City Phoenix acknowledges the beauties of home but truth be told home's everywhere but here now, found home in the people I travel with, my job, everything my life's about right now. It's all making me happy. well, most of the time.
Working as a fundraiser for Oxfam at the moment, Travelling and working outdoors constantly takes its toll on everything, plus the abuse I get at times wears me down but bloody hell when I remind myself of why I'm out there it's a kick in the ass.
I have all the potential material for some good poems at the minute, the wear and tear emotionally of this job is as bad as the physical. My skin's in bits at the minute because of the weather and just not eating right so I look like shit so I look in the mirror and pretty much try bullying myself in to looking after it but I just dont have the energy half the time! pain in the ass, mucho.
Ah well, sure I'll get round to it!
Been all over ireland but still a few places to visit, worked in Clonmel, Cashel, Thurles, Waterford, Dundalk, Drogheda, Dun Laoghaire, Carlow, Kilkenny, Sligo, Port Laoise, Tuam, Wexford, Dublin... oh and Galway a lot and bloody love the place. Definitely next port of call if I'm moving anywhere full time, I feel more at home there than limerick now. Guess I'll see where the wind takes me, as per usual.
